DSA and collaborative partner M3 offer an integrated, scalable, standards-based, and secure Health Information Exchange (HIE) solution for collection, storage, processing, distribution, and protection of medical data within individual medical institutions and at regional and national levels. The federated HIE system will connect all subscribing medical locations together, allowing the hospital or practice to keep patient files locally on their servers, but permitting easy transmittal when patient records are needed at a different hospital or practice. These transmissions meet all HIPAA guidelines and are only initiated as needed.
