FiXs is a coalition of commercial companies, government contractors, and not-for-profit organizations whose mission is to establish and maintain a worldwide, interoperable identity and cross-credentialing network built on security, privacy, trust, standard operating rules, policies, and technical standards. FiXs provides trusted identity management solutions in compliance with Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) and Federal Information Processing Standard 201 (FIPS-201).
FiXs is the only organization created to inter-operate a physical access cross-credentialing system with the Defense Cross-Credentialing Identification System (DCCIS) infrastructure and the credentialing network of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). The Federated Trust Model in existence between the member organizations of FIXs and the DoD is based on adherence to a specific set of operating rules, policies, certification procedures and auditing. The credential authentication and the revocation processes established and implemented in the FiXs operating rules represent the key component of the network integrity.
